My name is Rachel, and my journey into the beauty industry began in 2022 when I started practising treatments on myself and quickly discovered a genuine passion for nails and beauty. After spending a year building my confidence by treating friends and family, I took the leap and opened my business, ScarraBeauty, in 2023. I completed a Complete Nail Technician Course and then continued my education at Argyll UHI, where I achieved an NC Level 6 Beauty Therapy qualification. From the beginning, I had a goal of eventually teaching, as there was a real gap in training within my local area, which led me to enrol in a Level 3 AET teaching qualification to turn that ambition into reality. Although I never originally saw myself in the beauty industry, it has become a career I truly love. After successfully running my salon for a year, I adapted my business to a home-based setting following some health challenges and have since built a loyal and regular client base. I remain committed to further education to continue refining my skills, and I am now proud to share my knowledge through my training academy, offering courses in gel nails, builder gel, hard gel and extensions, lash lifting, and ASMR techniques. I can confidently say this is a path I would never look back from.
